Check the App Store for a free app called "Emoji" it will give you the Smiley and numerous other emoticons
Click General, Keyboard, Keyboards Add New Keyboard...
scrool down, find emoji and click🙂
you need to find support for whatsapp for this, apple cannot answer questions about applications NOT made by apple. Go google and type in whatsapp support or whatsapp contact.
