Safari "max-width" css property broken !!!

Hi Guys !

Has someone noticed that the "max-width" css property is broken in Safari ? It doesn't scale the image it is used with for instance.

Just try to view this topic in Safari.

User uploaded file

The image will not be scaled.

Now try to view it with any other modern browser : the image is scaled !

What's wrong with Safari ? Is there a workaround to this problem ? How could Safari pass the ACID2 test with such an issue ?

Here is the HTML code used for this image :

IMG src="/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/218/2187591-1.jpg" style="max-width:550px;"

(I removed the so that the discussions list doesn't interpret it as HTML)

iMac 20" Core Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.5), 1.5Go RAM - 128Mo VRAM
