cursor is out of control, moving erratically...

Hello,

I left my Mac connected to the internet and I think it downloaded a virus.

simtoms: The cursor is moving by it's self, also cliking...

I used the Mac OS X install DVD, holding the "C" key as the computer booted. Once the computer booted from the DVD the problem ceased.

So it is a software problem.

I read the forums and I did not fin an answer that confirm solving the problem.

I resetted the PRAM holding the option, comand, P and R keys till I heard four times the boot chaim noice. I ran the Disk Utility sofrare for permits and for reparing the disk. I down loaded the trial version of MacScan and ran it. All these eforts did not fix the problem.

I have already asked the hosts to remove any detail they think necessary. Nothing has happened yet so perhaps they don't agree ??? But then again, it is Sunday. 😀

For technical information, we shall have to wait until someone else comes in. I don't have a track pad and I am unfamiliar with the workings. What I can say is it is not a virus. Viruses and Macs don't mix.

Taking Apple Care was a wise decision, it may also entitle you to free telephone support if things don't get resolved. How that would work, I don't know, because I see no contact numbers for Venezual, but if you read the link, it may give you some leads. >>>>> Applecare worldwide: Apple Support Communities
