any repercussions from closing the migration assistant prematurely?

Bought a new macbook air, attempted to transfer stuff from my old lenovo laptop via the migration assistant.
Left it switched on overnight on AC, woke up to find that it says "50 hours" remaining or something.
Clicked the red X on the top left corner of the migration assistant window before it's completed.
Is there anything transferred at all for me to clean up? Intend to use an external harddrive to transfer my stuff cos it's taking too long via the migration assistant.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

Migration Assistant creates an user with the moved files, so open System Preferences > Users and Groups and delete this user. Also, try restoring with a faster method. Read "Before you begin the transfer process" > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796

You are probably using a very slow connection in between machines for a large amount of data, so then it takes a while. Using an external drive should speed things up dramatically, indeed.

For what's been already transferred, check the account you've been migrating to.
