System date diff iMac and my new Air

I setup a new MacBook Air yesterday and moved my data to it from my iMac. A data file told me there was a date inconsitency and when i look at Date and Time in System Preferences they are different in the way the month, day and year display themselves. Is there anything i can do to correct this so that they are in the following format in the picture:

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iMac 27", IOS Devices

Display of time, date and other variables can be set under System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Region.
