I can't edit text in Final Cut Pro X!

I've read all answers to questions similar to mine, and none seem to do the trick. Here's some need to know:

1. When I insert a title I can do everything to it (transform, distort, and crop) but edit what the text actually says

2. There is no text edit region within the text tab of the inspector window (beneath the text styles drop menu).

I migrated computers lately, and this problem was not happening. Is it change in OS? I went from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Is there something I haven't enabled or is it an unfixable bug with my software in particular? Please feel free to ask as many questions needed to help me get to the source of my problem. Thank you guys!

elaborate this.

Did you install a backup of an older/other Mac to a new one?

this is - imho - a NoGo.

To get the full 100% of your Mac use it as 'out-of-the-box' + updates.

Apple's Migration Assistent is a nice tool for transfering documents.

But never dare to use it for OS or apps

(I once tried with MS Office - desaster! 😁 )

Best practice and a 100% satisfactory User Experience only with a 'new&clean&originals' install. 🙂

Migration Assistant is an amazing tool. I have never had any problems with it. It lets one import all user accounts and applications from one mac to another - keeping all the registration details, network settings, etc. It is like having the same mac, but newer and faster. It does NOT copy the OS itself.

Of course, by doing this, one may transfer an application that is no longer compatible (like, say, a powerpc app to a mac running ML), but it is far easier to just delete it after the fact, and if it can't run it can't do any harm.

I have used this from TiBook to MBP to my current MBP. Zero issues. And I've helped several people do the same.
