How do I get my Canon Selphy es40 to work on OS X Mountain Lion when Canon has yet to release the driver until now???

My canon Selphy es40 doesn't work on Mountain Lion as the driver is still not available and according to Canon's website, to use the driver from OS X Lion as an alternative which doesn't work on Mountain Lion anyway. is there anyway to get around this on Mountain LIon? Haven't been able to use the photo printer for the last 3 months since I upgraded to mountain Lion.
