Pls help cannot charge.....

Everytime I connect my iPod to my comp to charge,it said "Please Wait Battery Low" after few mins then the APPLE icon appear for like 5mins,while the APPLE icon appear,I can hear some clicking sound inside iPod. And then it just repeat the low battery msg then apple icon again and again!!!!
