Projectors don't recognise my iPad

I used to play keynote presentations via iPad linked to a projector using a VGA connector without problem. All of a sudden projectors have stopped recognising it and say there is no signal - including ones I've used before and that I know pick up other devices. I don't think I have changed any settings and if I have don't know what to change back!

Anyone any ideas about how to resolve this?

For anyone interested the problem appears to be a bent pin in the iPad socket. As only Apple adapters have been put in it only an Apple product could be the cause. No sympathy from Apple though, no repair is possible and my only option is to trade in my 18 month old tablet for a reconditioned model at the cost of £200 - a lot of money to get a picture on a projector.
