Access G4 Tower

I was given a G4 Tower with no monitor. How can I access it? I've got an ethernet cable to it from my MacBook Pro. Want to wipe and turn into media center. I have the OS X 10.4 (Tiger) disc. But not really sure if the system has been upgraded to OS X 10.5.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4)

I think you might be able to run the G4 "headless" and access it using file sharing and remote desktop VNC over a network, but in order to set this access up the first time, you would need to use a monitor on the G4. can you borrow a monitor temporarily?

Check out Chicken of the VNC or TightVNC for the Mac, to see if that is something that might help, you could log in and control the G4 from the MacBook Pro.
