Q: View APP purchase history on IPAD (not Mac)

I see this question asked and the answer always seems to be to open iTunes and click your account, etc.  this assumes I have a Mac computer, I don't

1.  I do not have a Mac

2.  Opening iTunes on my ipad IOS 6 there is NO account link

3.  Purchase history in the APPS store does not show credit card charges, only a list of all the apps I have, I want to see inapp charges, credit card charges and dates.

I only have an ipad, no Mac.   How do I do this?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 6.0.1

I tried this and it let me see what was purchased, how much, and the date. You just have to log in with your Apple ID. I don't know if it will work for in app purchases, cos I didn't have a history of them. Hope it helps some

IT don't make any sence to do purchase history with IPad when they used to do it and the Surface Pro 3 does everything a computer does it replaces a computer so don't tell me a tablet can not take the place of a PC and they don't have the technology to do if Microsoft can do it Apple can do it I am a strong believer if you think of something then that means someone probably someone has thought of it also cause if you came up with an idea then that means someone else can come up with the exact same idea some where else. I know it sounds crazy but think about it...

So In other words if Microsoft can come up with a way to make a tablet to replace a computer where if you bought the surface pro 3 or surface pro 2 then you would defiantly a computer and if they can thought of of the idea that made that possible then so can Apple with the IPad  Brand of Tablets it's just someone needs to tell them. Email them or get a petition started demanding better products ones to replace a computer and with a USB flash drive port. And. SD Memory Card Slot. Cause that would make the Ultimate Tablet. I should Probably email them about my idea maybe get it copyrighted  and stuff who knows it may be th tablet of the future lol. Well if you don't have a PC and in a pinch maybe can go to Library and use there's that's what I am thinking of doing or maybe my dads he has two cause my computer broke I have to get a one Costco has them on sale windows PC's I wanted a MacBook Pro a pro because it had a A a disc drive I can't remember if it was DVD burn or CD burner or was just a player or what  but the windows 8.1 is kinda like a a Mac it has apps and stuff and touch screen and and comes with a lot of programs has beats well HP does and you can put itunes on it and it's real nice and not as expensive.

I Actually have an iPhone and iPad and wasn't required to have a computer.... I'm not sure where those two ideas came together but computer ownership is not a requirement to purchase either product.  I completely agree that if you have the ability to charge me for an iPad or iPhone purchase I should be able to view what that purchase cost me on the device I used to purchase it.  It's a clear lapse in common sense on apples part.  Sorry.

As has been mentioned on several occasions throughout this thread, you can view your most recent purchases (last 90 days i believe) through the report a problem link. Apple also sends invoices to the registered email address for the Apple ID used to make a purchase.

So there are in fact ways to view purchases directly on the iPhone or iPad.

    http://reportaproblem.apple.com

You can access the site through Safari on either device.

Anything else requires iTunes on a computer. Which is stated in the System Requirements when you buy an iPhone or iPad.

I do not realise how any one can argue against the fact that you cannot find a simple bill on your i pad. This is an awful machine - my son only has it as a necessity for school (everyone has one it's part of the curriculum) but as sensible people we obviously use IBM PC's and Android devices for everything else.

I'm not arguing anything. I pointed out what you can do in the iPad nothing more.

    1. When you buy something in the App Store, iTunes Store, Ibooks Store etc.., Apple sends you an email with an invoice for your purchase.

I would assume a sensible person has their email setup in the iPad so you can view said invoice in the Mail App, And save it if you need to.

    2. Again you can go to the website reportaproble.apple.com i pointed out above, and view your most recent purchases.  About 3 months worth. Why is that so difficult?

    http://reportaproblem.apple.com/

    3. You can open the App Store App for Apps, and iTunes for all other purchases, and go into the Purchased section to view  all your purchases/downloads. This list does not have prices attached though.

    4. If you want a historical purchase list back to the beginning of time, with price, date of purchase, and other details, you need to do it from a computer. That is the only limitation.

Why people make such drama, about this I cannot understand.

Most Machines with an Operating system in the world WILL NOT RUN ITUNES.  (In bold and caps and underlined  because the OP is making an important and valid point). If you happens to run Windows (and want to flood it with rubbish) or an OSX machine, (a minority of machines) then you can run iTunes.

Apple could make iTunes run under OSX and just haven't yet. Alternatively they could publish the records of purchases in full on an iPad App

Posts like this excellent one, show the market pressure for them (Apple) to get off their corporate backside and do something useful for their users.

AMEN this is rediculous my iPad is a computer why should I need to buy a desktop or laptop to view my purchase history on a system that so easily accepts payment. This is the most aggravating 48 hours I've ever had.

It appears I'll have to vent my own frustrations about the exact same problem posted by the OP.

It appears almost 3 years since this issue was raised on this thread, Apple has done nothing about it.

It simply isn't good enough, and there can be no justifiable reason, that I can be charged for purchases through the App Store on my iPad, but can't view a purchase history. In this day and age, it is simply ridiculous that this oddity still persists with Apple.

In my own case, I made an in-app purchase which was partly paid for by my gift card balance. I tried to find out afterwards what was charged to my credit card since I wasn't sure what the gift card balance was, and I ran into a brick wall. And before you ask, I didn't receive an immediate email confirmation detailing my purchase. This is simply poor form for a company like Apple.

With every other major ecommerce company, I get an immediate confirmation of my purchase containing every single detail, and can check every detail of my purchase history going back to the beginning of time.

That I have to download iTunes to my PC to check my payment history for purchases made on my iPad is an unnecessary burden being placed by Apple on its customers and one I refuse to bear. I don't need nor use itunes for anything else and so don't see the need to unnecessarily occupy valuable disk space on my PC.

So if anyone is listening from Apple, this is a minor issue that you can fix to stop irritating your customers, so Just Do It!

For those who may joining this discussion and not reading the previous 70 replies...

You do not need to use iTunes to follow up on a purchase within the last 90 days.

On your iPad or iPhone or iPod Touch, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. There you will see 90 days of purchase details, including free apps and paid apps and the price charged. There is a search option, you can filter the purchases by type and there is a link beside each purchase if you want to "report a problem"

If you need details on purchase from more than 90 days ago, you can use the iTunes method, or you can call Apple Support and they will verify you as the account holder and attempt to answer your question(s) or resolve your issue.

Most users, I'll repeat, *most* users use iTunes for a number of things besides checking on purchases. If it's a burden to have it installed, then don't. Leverage the other options provided. iTunes manages music, backs up and restores devices and is there *only* way to reset a device to factory conditions when required.

    go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com

you dont HAVE to report a problem- but you can- as each purchase shows with a sub menu asking you

Yes, reportaproblem has been mentioned several times in the course of this thread as an option. Last time by me 4 posts above yours on this same page. So not really a solution so much as illustrating points already made.
