Where is documents to go Client?

I recently purchased a Palm T/X and while it has DataViz Documents to Go on the palm I can't find oout how to move files from my G4 to the palm. I have Office for Mac installed on my computer. I have uninstallled and reinstallled the palm desktop software and I still do not see anything that resembles a program that allows me to transfer documents to my palm.

Everything you need to do this is contained on the CD-ROM that shipped with your Palm T|X handheld organizer. What follows in an excerpt from a Palm Macintosh Support forum article. Read the entire article before installing the Documents to Go Desktop Companion:

Using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on a Palm TX handheld

Your Palm TX handheld lets you take your office with you — including your Microsoft Office files.

Using the Documents application on your device, you can carry, create, view, and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files directly on your handheld. After adding software, you can also view, carry, and manage PowerPoint files on your device.

You can keep updated copies of the files on both your device and your computer so that you can work on them in the most convenient location any time.

What's in it for me?

Copy Word, Excel and PowerPoint files to your Palm TX

Now that the Documents application is set up, you can start working with Microsoft Office files on your mobile manager. Use the desktop companion for Documents To Go to keep files synchronized between your Palm TX and your PC or Mac.

First, install the Documents To Go desktop companion.

• Insert the Palm TX CD-ROM into your Mac.
• Click on the Palm CD icon on your desktop.
• Follow this path: Palm CD : English : Essential Software : DocumentsToGo
• Double-click the .dmg file in the DocumentsToGo folder.
• Double-click the Documents To Go installer that appears.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your Mac.

Now you can keep Microsoft Office files synchronized between your Mac and your Palm TX.

On your Mac, launch Documents To Go (it's in your Applications folder.)

• In the upper left corner, click the "Add" icon (looks like page with a green plus sign).
• Browse for a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file. The file will be added to the list.
• Perform a HotSync operation to move the file to your Palm TX.

Work with documents on your Palm TX

Once you've added Word, Excel and PowerPoint files to your Palm TX, you can use the Documents application to work with them.

The Documents application provides powerful editing and file management features.

• View Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files in their native format (DOC, XLS, or PPT).
• Create or edit a Word document or Excel spreadsheet on your device and save it in their native format.
• Create or edit a PowerPoint-compatible presentation that is optimized for viewing on your device.
• Open Office files received as attachments to incoming email messages, and attach files to outgoing messages.

To view and open a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file on your device:

• Go to Applications.
• Select Documents.

The Documents application will search your Palm TX's internal memory (and expansion card, if inserted) for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. These will automatically appear in the list. Tap any document to open it.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Was Documents to Go bundled with your Tungsten E? I cannot find any indication that it was [except for the DataViz link below] - only that it was bundled with the later Tungsten E2.

This link indicates that Documents to Go version 6 Professional Edition was bundled with your device:

http://www.dataviz.com/products/documentstogo/dxtg_hhbundle.html

You can select the Tungsten E link on that page for an offer to update to the latest version—Premium Edition 8—for $ 29.95 direct from DataViz.

Those directions dealt with the Version 7 bundled Professional Edition, I believe.
