How do I avoid increased noise on clips treated in color?

Trying to tweak the colours of my clips, filmed on a Sony Ex1 at 1080p25/35, I've noticed an increase in noise in the clip. Is this inevitable or should I take some additional precautions before processing? I noticed the problem using a colour preset in 'color' and also when just raising the black level in FCP7 color filter. Alternatively is the a de-noise filter I could use? Thanks in advance.

You can only do so much in color or with a color correct filter in fcp. There's only so much information in the original clip. I've never had much luck with noise removal for video. I've tried a few.


The only real solution I've found is to shoot with a good exposure and/or sufficient lighting in the first place.
