Need help moving Server files to new computer

I have a MBP that was repurposed as a server after upgrading my laptop. But, I didn't wipe the laptop before turning it into a server. That has caused some other problems (mostly with other server software - unrelated to OSX Server). So, now I want to do a clean install on the laptop.

My only issue is moving the OSX server files. I can't find a guide/manual/discussion that tells me what files to move in order to move my server setup.

My biggest need is to save the wiki I've created. I could probably reset everything else.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi

Although this support article is for 10.6:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5585

The statement in the Summary appears to suggest the instructions work for 10.8 to 10.8? However the article may not help you as there are further network implications that may not apply to your situation?

Ultimately the only way you're ever going to really find out is to try it yourself. Etiher the way you think it may be work (doubtful but you never know) or the method suggested in the article or a combination of the two. Or googling for another answer elsewhere.

As ever I would try and make sure you have a full working backup of any critical data important to you before trying anything.

HTH?

Or use the migration assistant. You will need to clone the server first as a clean install will wipe your data.

If you need to save network users create an OD archive first. I am not sure how to do this in ML. but in lion use the server admin app. This was a stumbling block. After the migration delete the OD directory, create a new OD master in the server app then restored the Database. Sorry, I dont have the commends at hand but a search should locate them.

I probably should retitle the post. I need to restore the server files on THE SAME computer after a clean install.

I could clone the drive, but would like to avoid that, as that would require using a big external drive I don't have handy to store the clone (500GB).

All of the documentation above is about moving from 10.6 or Lion to OSX (MLion) server. The changes under the hood in MLionServer make the articles less helpful. For example, there is no collaboration folder in MLionServer.

Could I restore just the server info from Time Machine?
