iCal/iCloud calendar disappearing

I mistakenly deleted a calendar from iCal. I can restore the calendar using Time Machine, but as soon as iCal goes on line again, the calendar disappears. I tried to manually add the calendar to iCould directly and from a different linked computer, but it still disappears. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
