You should be able to, I did.
Start here: https://appleid.apple.com
Select "Manage your Apple ID". Log in with your Apple ID and password.
You should be able to find the appropriate link to add a "rescue email address". If you cannot, write back and I will try to remember how I did it.
would you try to recall what you did again please?
i can't find it. 😟 thankyou.
There are instructions half-way down this page on how to add a rescue email address :
You can edit or delete your rescue email address using theApple ID website. To edit your rescue email address:
- Navigate to appleid.apple.com using your web browser.
- Click "Manage your account"
- When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
- Click Password & Security
- You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
- After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Editto the right of your rescue email address.
- Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Savebutton directly below the email field.
As well as being able to edit an existing rescue email address you should be able to add one if you don't currently have one.
Let me know if King_Penguin's instructions work for you, otherwise I will add one to one of my mistakenly created Apple IDs and let you know what I did 🙂
that didnt work and the problem is i forgot my security questions. apple changed them
Why would Apple change them ?
You should be able to change them by going to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox).
Or you could see if the second half of Kappy's reply in this thread helps : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4530659
Where is the link to do this? all i can see are the two questions and the blank boxes for ther answers.
If you don't currently have a rescue email address on your account then you need to answer the two questions before your can add/change it, as shown in my first reply. If you don't currently have a rescue email address and you can't remember the answers then you will need to follow the insructions from the my second post.
i could not find it thank you
i need a rescue email so i can reset my security questions do you know how without anwsering security questions?
You can only add a rescue email address by answering the questions, if you don't know the answers then you will need to try what is suggested in that user tip
