keyboard turns on and off intermittently, batteries at 100%

Can anyone help me determine why my Apple wireless keyboard turns on and off intermittently when my battery life is at 100%?

I have this problem too. My keyboard toggles off occasionally for as quick as 5 seconds and up to 30 seconds while I'm in the middle of typing. Sometimes it gets stuck typing one key and I end up with a string of periods or letters. Today it's been happening about 5-10 times per hour. I got my imac about 6 months ago. It's running OS X 10.7.5. When I started using, I didn't have any issues. Battery level says 100%. I tried changing out batteries anyway and still had problems. Please help, otherwise I'll need to switch back to USB keyboard.
