So when is this going to get fixed!?
So many people use this so often. Why isn't this being fixed in a timely manner.

You'll need to ask Apple, they're the only ones who know.
Being able to "Save to iPhoto" in Mail.app isn't working for me, my stepmother, and my mother - all on 10.8.2 with all the latest updates. This problem has been on-going and I don't see a solution - yes I see the drag-n-drop workaround but that's much more work for many attachements (which I get regularly).

I think there is something wrong with your Macs because I was able to do it just now without any problem.

There isn't. Te Save to iPhoto from Mail was broken in 10.8.2
