can my apple tv be used as an internet access point?

Ie; I have the gen 2? Apple TV MB189LL. Connected to my router/ethernet via WiFi.

I have a new amp that has internet radio capabilities, and also needs access to the internet for firmware upgrades.

My apple TV has the ethernet port as does the new amp. Can I access the internet from my amp by connecting it to the Apple TV ethernet port?
