- My Internet service is slow and at this point I can't change that...but do I have to download a movie each time I want to see it? For example I will be using the ATV in different rooms and different users, so do i/we have to download the same movie each time we turn on ATV or will it be saved for future viewing w/o the need for download?

Anything you downlopad to the Apple TV will be erased once you have watched it.
If you have a slow connection, you may wish considering downloading it to your iTunes library on the computer, it will stay there and can be restreamed to the Apple TV over your local network when you want to re-watch it.
