iMovie 08 Won't Install

Hello

I have a Dual Core 2.0 with 10.4.11. I tried installing iLife 08 ontop of iLife 06. iMovie did not install.

Any suggestions?

Thanx

Mike

It has been many years, but if I recall oorrectly, then iPhoto, Garageband, iDVD, etc should be written over.

iMovie 06, should still be on your system, but in a folder called Applications/iMovie - Previous Versions.

iMovie 08 should be in your Applications folder.

Also, if you install from a retail disk, you may have the 7.0 version. You will need to run Software Update to upgrade to 7.1.4 (I think). The 7.0 version will not run well, so you need to get it up to at least 7.1.

Hello Appleman

Thanx for the reply. Actually I've decided to take a closer look at the options/custom installs regarding the Apple OS 10.4 (2 Disc Set), for a Dual Core G5. I believe it would be beneficial to do a custom install upon opening the FIRST disc. Here, I can avoid all unwanted, unecessary software. *There be unwanted ancient versions of iLife here, (older than 06).

Of course the essential applications are 'greyed out', they are already 'checked' and cannot be altered or unchecked. So now I sould be good to go.

From here, next I'll install the combo update bringing the OS to 10.4.11

Then do a custom install of iDVD 06 ONLY, then a complete install of iDVD 08. (*Avoiding the dredded iDVD crash). I'm hoping I can get iMovie 08 to install this way.
