unable to sync music on itunes from macbook laptop to new iphone 5

I just bought iphone 5. my mac book is OS X version 10.5.8.

Prolem is I am trying to sync music from itunes as i did in iphone 4, but unable to do it because it requires itunes 10.7 and Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later. What I have to do now?? Why iphone 5 is not compatible with my existing itunes as I did on iphone4??

Because in designing the iPhone 5 Apple needed to use an Updated version of iTunes in order to offer all the new features that the iPhone 5 offers. This is discussed in a Support Article on the Mac's OS X Requirements for syncing with the iPhone 5. Apple has always had to update its Apps and OS's in order to offer new features. You just haven't Upgraded your Mac and its version of OS X in a long time. Now would be a good time.

Hope this helps 🙂
