Nov 26, 2012 3:56 AM in response to zanflanby ckuan,All app are tied to the Apple ID used during purchase. Apple ID cannot be merged or transfered.
To update, you need the original Apple ID and password.
(Note: You can change the info associated with the Apple ID but not the ID itself. Well, you can and it is thissituation you're in).

Feb 23, 2014 8:53 AM in response to ckuanby 1Dionysos,I, too, have as my Apple ID, alanandirene@primehome.com - had it for nearly a year now - but if I try "Enter Apple ID and Password, it always goes to alanandirene@cytanet.com.cy - in spite of the fact that I haven't got cytanet.com.cy as my provider any more. I have successfully now had alanandirene@primehome.com, and even had my password, so why do I always get @cytanet.com.cy?

Feb 24, 2014 6:26 AM in response to ckuanby 1Dionysos,I have backuped already. Frankly, if Apple cannot have my iPad onto a new computer, and a new provider if necessary, I might as well, next time, buy an android instead - after all, they have just as many apps now. I don't WANT to, though, all I ask is that my new provider is the same everywhere, and not one that is at least three years old!
