how can I stop garageband (recording) in background?

In the frenzy of recording a project to GarageBand on my iPad2, I reached a point where I couldn't get the record metronome to stop during playback & then found the red banner at the top of the screen showing GarageBand (recording) when I exit the ap. I've erased that project, restarted twice, re-downloaded the ap & it's still (recording)...any ideas out there?

Have you tried to reset GarageBand to factory settings?

Open the "Settings" app, scroll all the way down to "GarageBand", and set the "Reset GarageBand" switch to "On".

This will reset the app to the original settings, but will not erase your projects.

(I could only test with GarageBand on the iPad 3, but hopefully this will work on iPad 2 the same 😝)
