Hi everyone.

I came across an Macintosh Powerbook 5300cs. It turned on at first and I was able to shut it down. But now it will not turn back on. It only makes a ticking sound, like a clock, when the power adapter is plugged in. Went through the old manual, removed batter and cleaned the connections but still no go. I would like to get it to work to show my students in the computer lab an old style working laptop. Thanks for any suggestions.

The ticking/clicking sound is an indication of a failing/failed hard drive.

 Cheers, Tom 😉
