Can I create on iMac and present on iPad?

I bought the KeyNote app for both my iPad 2 and iMac (OS 10.8.2), thinking I could build on my desktop and then use my iPad to present. HOWEVER, the presentation doesn't look the same on my iPad (NOW I understand that there's limited functionality on the iPad). So would you advice that I do EVERYTHING on the iPad to keep my frustration level to a minimum? Or might you have some tips or advice to share on using my desktop and Keynote?

Thanks!!

if you want 99% compatibility and reliability create on the iPad

if you have time and inclination, create on Mac with these limitations;

dont use audio or video files

use simple popular fonts

use simple transitions

use simple builds

(experiment to check what works and keep a list of what works)

Thank you for the feedback. Don't forget the useful tips from Gary Scotland

as well, particularly about keeping a list of what works for you. Periodically

go back and try a few things that did not work on first try to see if recent

software updates have given Keynote for iOS new capabilities. Changes

are sometimes slipstreamed without public mention.
