Q: Just downloaded songs, fully charged, can not get live again

Just connected to Itunes to down load songs.  Fully charged before download.  Now can not get Nano Classic to come back alive.  Sliding switch does not work.

iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

So are you disconnected the iPod from your Mac it powered off?  Have you tried resetting it to see if that brings it back to life?  To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
