It's exceedingly SLOW. Hardwired is best - wifi may take a day or so.

Prone to errors, hangs & if it does work, takes forever...if you have alot data...days.

It's very strong warning for such trivial reason.

Never had issue with wifi migraiton. It may be slower, but cost nothing. It obviously largely depend on amount of that to migrate, and time. 250 GB of data migrated overnight without issues.

We get posts here, all the time, from users that attempt to do this using WiFi & they don't post because it is or has worked for them. That's why we warn/suggest you not use this method. Like many things in life, your mileage may vary.
