i see the pictures small .. when i double click it does not pop up as a big picture... How can i solve this problem

just small pictures... iphoto 9 latest version
When you double click? A blank screen? An Eclamation point !

When i double click nothing is happening. All the pictures are in small stays.. But never pops up to get the full display.
Check the settings on your mouse or trackpad. That sounds like an issue with the double-click speed.
