The HDMI input on my Samsung TV (about 7 years old) is being used by FIOS. I can buy an HDMI to Component converter for $35 or a HDMI switch to feed both the FIOS and Apple TV to the TV's HDMI input. Which is the best way to go?
I prefer the switch as you maintain HD quality, but it is a value for money choice.

component support a max 1080i but not HDCP which is the encryptment drm protocol required to see netflix, and rent movies and......
some dvi versions dont even support HDCP
