Q: How do I access "complimentary storage?"No iCloud icon in Sys Prefs

My System Preferences does not show any iCloud icon.

I am guessing it is because I am in Snow Leopard, 10.6.8, and not Lion.

I don't want to upgrade to Lion - I don't like it and too many 3rd party apps will not work in it.

However, I did "move" to iCloud to keep my Mac/Me email address.

 

I'm confused now because Apple sends me email like this: (When you moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, we provided you with a complimentary storage upgrade...") and most recently, this: ("As a thank you to our former MobileMe members, we will continue to provide you with this complimentary storage upgrade at no charge, for an additional year, until September 30, 2013.")

 

But I do not know how to access this. There is no iCloud icon in my system preferences.

Can anyone help clarify this for me?

    If you intend to stay on 10.6.8 you will only be able to use iCloud email, Snow Leopard does not support iCloud.

    Thanks. I thought as much but Apple has sent me these notifications of complimentary storage more than one time. I began wondering if I was missing something.

    I'm tempted to upgrade but really don't care for Lion since I believe I will lose all the applications currently working via Rosetta. And...I keep hoping Apple will back away from the rigid position it has taken with Cloud demolishing iDisk-.Mac- Mobile Me unless upgrading to Lion.

    After 25 plus years an Apple advocate, I find myself left behind, pushed aside without regard. This was a harsh move on their part and offers of complimentary storage seem ludicrous.
