Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

We are using Windows Servers (2008 R2) to host our network accounts via SMB and our MAC clients have shown problems resaving a document, especially MS Office or iWorks docs become read only. Is anyone else dealing with this?

Our students use MAC (Lion 10.7.5) laptops and our file server is Windows (2008 R2) and frequently (although not always) experience their documents (seems to be mostly MS Office or iWorks Docs) becoming read only when editing so they can't resave but have to create a copy. Seems to be a problem with SMBX talking to SMB. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I've seen on other discussion threads that SMBUP is used to fix this issue when the server is MAC and the client is Windows. Anyone tried SMBUP installed on a MAC client to fix this communication problem with Windows server SMB?
