Why have apps if some people are never going to use them?

I was wondering what is the point of having apps like Passbook, Stocks, and Newsstand if some people are never going to use them? These three specifically I do not use or need and just take up space on my phone. They should make these optional or atleast make Newsstand an app I can place in a "Useless Apps" folder.
