What iPhone 4S did you buy? If Virgin Mobile is a CDMA carrier, I do not believe it is a supported carrier. If you purchased a CDMA phone in the US, the only part that can be unlocked by the carrier is the GSM side. CDMA phones cannot be unlocked.

Also, you are not addressing Apple here, this is a user to user technical support forum. The warranty on that phone is also only valid in the US, so if you had trouble with the phone you would have to return to the US with it for warranty service.

You should sell the phone.

Thanks for you answer. Well, I want to do exactly that, to unlock the GSM side. I buyed my iphone 4s of Virgin Mobile without no contract in a CDMA plan. Now, I live in other country and I wish use mi iphone with a GSM local carrier, but I can't because the GSM/SIM slot isn't unlocked. I contacted to VM Support and they say me that the iphone that they sell are desing for use only CDMA network and that I contact apple for help about how activate the GSM side for international carriers. Well, I think that is a strange answer for a carrier, but I had to try and know if any other persons have the same problem.

Virgin Mobile is the original carrier and I purchased my iphone 4s of them. I lived in Houston 3 months ago and I had a 35$us/month non contract plan with VM. In Bolivia there isn't VM how a carrier, and i want to use a local carrier to use mi iphone, only exist GSM carriers. Well, I think the answer to VM support was because they really can not release the slot GSM iPhones that sold for use abroad
