Itunes 10 kills DVD drive in Vista

I have looked and looked and still no solution. I have a 32 bit Vista machine with an LG DVD drive. It works perfectly until I load Itunes. Then it will not work and device manager says that there is an issue.

I have tested several times. Installed Itunes and un installled. In all cases the DVD works fine untill Itunes is installed.

I dont have Itunes installed right now so I dont have the exact error message.

There are several fixes that I have tried but only uninstalling Itunes fixes the problem. I've seen the issue posted in many places, but no fixes. Please help.

Windows says I have the best drivers.
