Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Did you try using the provided generic drivers, Postscript or PCL?
Could you help me with finding a generic driver? What does "provided" mean in your note? The drivers that came installed in the machine do not work. Xerox does not have one for OS X 10.8.2.

OS X comes with a Generic PostScript and Generic PCL driver, and you can select those from the "Print Using" (or "Use") menu in AddPrinter when adding the printer.

My "Use" menu only contains Apple print drivers. And Canon drivers, from the location I set this machine up. None for my home use....which is a Xerox machine.
Not being on the menu, I don't know how to acquire this generic driver.
Any further helpful hints?

Those come with the system. Has the system been modified? The ppd is here:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/P rintCore.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Generic.ppd
