I want to buy a friend a app I've already bought for myself, how can I do this??

You can't currently gift items directly on an iOS 6 device, but you should be able to do it via your computer's iTunes : gifting content. The recipient's iTunes account will need to be based in the same country as yourself e.g. if your account is US based then you can only gift to other US accounts.
