Is there a way to track (create/record) automations that are being (implicitly) created in live time by adjusting effects while playing back a track or recording?

For instance, sometimes I'll be playing back a track and monitoring how different effects sound as I apply them. Some cool filters, tones, or effects I'll create by dragging or adjusting an effect parameter over time while playing back the track. It'll be a desired effect but only the end result of the setting will apply to the whole track over time. I'd like to have garageband follow what I'm doing in real time and automatically create those automations as I'm creating them live during playback. Is there a way to do this? (Obviously there's much more control and precision when sliding or adjusting in real time than manually trying to create a hundred tiny automation dots and adjusting them painstakingly by trial and error for hours, lol.)

no, you can only create automation curves by hand in GB after recording
