My iPad needs recharging. I plug in the charge cable in what I think is the recharging slot. I cannot find anything in any of the literature on the website that identifies the charging slot but the plug seems to fit! But it won't charge.

OK

when you connect the cable to the IPad and then the other end into the charge connector - do you see an icon on the top left of the screen?

What does it indicate?

Are you trying to charge via a PC?Mac or the mains?

Of course 🙂

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

The icon in the top left indicates the state of the wireless connection. In the top RH corner it shows a batter and the level of the charge which is also indicated by 15%. It is connected via the mains. I have no reason to suspect the connection as I cahrge my telephone via the same mains connection. I am still mystified as to where I should actually attach the power cable to the iPad (it's a mini by the way). I know it may seem awfully obvious but the comfort of confirmation would be much appreciated.

Ther does seem to be quite a lot of comments about this issue 😟

It seems the charger is a little slow and takes upto 4 hours to charge

closing all apps and leave the ipod in standby seems to off the best charging experience

I hope the Photo helps 🙂

In my view apple should have included a better charger for the price, the new 12w adaptor will reduce the charge time and resolve you problem, however its about $15

Thank you that is most helpful from what I presume are our American cousins. Can I also say how flattered we are that such homage is paid to a Brit in the the use of the Apple Logo despite the desperate circumstances it records. I must confess I searched a little deeper and did find the reference to the charging point. I am a little lost why it is called the lightning connector rather than say cahrging connection/point whatever but then I am only a Brit!
