Aple Care Alternative for a Powerbook over 1 Year?

Hi there,

Does anyone in the UK know a website or company that will offer an alternative to the Applecare because my powerbook is outside of its 1 year warranty and need it covered, any suggestions would be welcomed!

Thanks

Danny

Hi Danny,

What sort of cover are you after?

If you want telephone support and technical support/assistance there are many Apple Authorised Service Providers (AASP's) who will be more than happy to provide you with such a quote.

If you are after traditional insurance type over that includes cost of repairs or replacement following a fault or accidental damage then look at Insurance companies. Typically, if you have a Home Contents Insurance, most of them include a clause that covers this though you may want to check.

Hi Danny,

PC World aren't an AASP and even if they were I wouldn't trust them with anything.

From reading your post it seems to be that the type of cover you want is what can be supplied by a normal Insurance Policy. Do you have Home Contents Insurance? If you do not then you can get a policy that covers just the PowerBook. With regards to the cost of the premiums, this varies and you'll need to simply call around and get different quotes and what the cover is.
