Mail problem with a spammer
I need HELP stopp"n a spammer sending fron Yahoo aka Yay-hoo.
I have been getting a spammer from yahoo.com on and off for a few months sending me email.
I used to bounce it but with a update to 10.7.5 this is no longer an option!
WHy I do not know, still getting used to 10.7.5 and some other programs moved from another Mac.
I have used ClamXav also Sophos Anti-Virus (free).
I got nothing to indicate any key logger or other such program, so I thought why not get hold
of Yahoo support and find a solution to this spammer !
Well Yahoo sends anyone looking for support to a website run by someone else.
I went from Yahoo.com to PCexpertsolution.com to TeamViewer.com and had a program installed in
the Parallels-Windows 7 as well as the Mac app folder to find the problem.
I was told I had been hacked and the key logger was sending out information to somewhere!
Any way their tech'r talked me into getting into my Mac Pro and doing a scan using the console program.
I was watching and in the scan, did see a key logger was installed but then gave me a out of this world price for doing my other
computer with the Mac Pro to clean them of this key logger. ( can't find a copy of any log to review what was done)
Since I have used Apple computers and a few others since 1984, this sounds a might bit iffy or bogus to put a point on it!
Then I googled a program called gfslogger, which ClamXav uses, whic I understand coould be read as a key logger program.
I also run Parallels 8 for Windows 7 w/Norton Internet Security, but also have a Asus laptop with Windows 7 w/Norton Internet Security
on it for work I do for our church.
In the other days, hehehe, we just fingered them and did them in..
