My 2G ipod is not being recognized by itunes 10.7 on my mac.

When I start the system with the iPod connected,

the lights flash the color orange as if the battery is being charged,

but itunes does't show the ipod icon.

When I start the system and then connect the ipod, this orange light flashes three times and dies.

> I've tried reinstalling itunes.

It worked at first, but then the problem returned.
