Have called Cox Support and after a couple of hours Cox says it's the Mac Mail application that is the problem
All my i phones send and receive just fine using the same settings . To send from my computer I have to use Cox web mail
Please help!

Open Mail - Preferences - Accounts and re-input all the settings. You may have one that is corrupt, even though it may look OK re-inputting resets them.

Thanks for the response. I tried all this. Mail connection Doctor Give me a green light for both POP & SMTP connections

Funny is it not how all settings can look 100% right yet when you delete the account and re-add it suddenly starts working. I guess there might be hidden values in the preference file causing the problem.
