I am trying to update Quicktime but it says that older version cannot be removed.

I tried uninstalling quicktime but that didn't work. It said it couldn't be removed and the configuration data is corrupt. I'm on a pc with Windows 7. Can anyone help?

Quicktime-OTHER, Windows 7

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" User uploaded filethingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").

In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time?
