Its the TRACKPAD that needs to be replaced. the TRACKPAD. If anyone has had the TRACKPAD replaced, and knows about how much (even if it was years ago, i dont care i just need to know if its going to be around $50 or closer $200, becuase theres just a bit of a difference there). I just need an estimated price.

Just going over this to clear up any confusion. If anyone has had the TRACKPAD of their macbook pro replaced, i would like to know how much it cost you to get it replaced.

I dont need any more people telling me 'WE cant give you a price'

Ladies and gentalmen, as i have come to the conclusion that no one really knows the cost of one of these badboys, i have done some epic searching and i have done the impossible. I have found the cost of a TRACKPAD.

As you can clearly see in the screen shot i have provided, it will cost me $94.95 for a brand spankin new TRACKPAD.

Ok, now that you've strutted about how you found what will probably be the wrong part (unless you have an ancient not-Unibody Mac), you are challenged to either install it yourself or pay the labor costs to get it done. And maybe have a working Mac at the end. And then we'll see if the friggin trackpad really cost just $95.

Oh, and it took all of five heartwrenching minutes to locate the correct part for a recent-issue 15" non-Retina MacBook Pro (model specs which you never bothered to provide). From two different sources, to boot!

Do you have any idea that the people who are posting here are all just other Mac users, volunteering their time to help you? Do you have any idea how insulting your attitude is? We all understand someone wanting to save money with repairs, but even if you could find the right trackpad, aka TRACKPAD, the chances of you being able to install it correctly are slim to none.

In the future, if you come back here for help, DON'T YELL AT US. And don't assume we're not listening to you. And do assume we volunteer our time here because we really do want to solve your problem. And tons like you.

this is the awnser, trust me I do underrstand your frusterations but try and keep lid on it, the actual apple branded part costs about $150 from the geneius bar and ont top of that you need to take into account the amout of time and work it takkes which is another $150 so the rough esttimate is $300. but it also depends on what year your macbook is all unibody macbooks from 2009 and before the track pad is a part of the whole chassis along with the new keyboard, but from 2010and after the track pads are screwed on by a special screw, and glued to the chassis and they are connected by a very thin ribbon that leads to the top of the mother board, so even though the part is cheaper the actual repair chop takes more skill and tools to take care of, and if your are not extremely careful and well experianced than one small mistake would turn you $1200 machine into a paper weight. so its best to take it to the genius bar or your nearest autherized repairmen, that way if something goes wrong you still have some sort of coverage.

Hi everyone. I'm not sure how to start a new conversation, but I would like to know if you guys think that my cracked trackpad on my less than a year old Mac Book Pro would be covered by my warranty. I haven't abused it at all and just did the normal "tap" on it and it cracked. Just the top layer (glass), not the whole thing. It's working fine, but is ugly broken 😟.

I was reading on another site and it seems there are quite a few people experiencing this problem. The crack is in the EXACT same place and above where there is a screw underneath the pad. They seem to think that maybe this is a defect in the design and the screw is somehow pressing on the pad? What do you all think?

Thanks for your responses and input!
