What effect does using Itunes match have on the Cellular Data usage when not on a local network.
My understanding is that the songs no longer ocupy storage on the IOS device and have to be streamed from the cloud. It would then follow that I would have to use my monthly data allowance to use Itunes match. AM I correct.

Yes, that is correct. Or you can set "use cellular data" to OFF and download the music you want to listen to while on your home Wi Fi network. Therefore not using any mobile data for music.

Now, it is my understanding as of discssions on this board yesterday that match does take up memory. Delete all of your songs on your device, play a couple through match, and see how the memory used increases for each one played since a copy is being downloaded. Take a look.
Yes, that is correct, Glenn. But the OP is asking about data usage. And if songs are pre-downloaded, and "use cellular data" is set to OFF then only the songs that are stored on the device are playable and no additional data is used or stored on the device.
