I have the iLife 05 DVD that contains iDVD. I have a imac 1.6 GHz PowerPC G5 with a DVD (read only) drive. I have an external LG Super Multi DVD Rewriter. The external DVD drive works with the imac but in the system profile says under burn support "yes (not supported)".
Any ideas on how to get iDVD to load?

Hello, can I assume it's Installed, but just won't Burn because the Internal Read Only?
Two ways to go, use iDVD to burn to a Disc Image first to later use Disk Utility to Restore it to a DVD.
Or try the HPfurz.sit.hqx hack here...

No, iDVD is not installed. When I install iLife (via the DVD), it installs Garage Band, iphoto, imovie and imovie HD but not iDVD. I just assumed that it doesn't install because the system doesn't see a DVD burner. I don't see iDVD in my applications list.
I'm stumped.
