Q: iTunes 11 crashes when syncing iPhone

I just installed iTunes 11 and it crashes every time I try to sync my iPhone 4S.  As soon as it tries to update an app on the iPhone it crashes.  Any ideas?

Try to update or add a new app and see if it works.

Try restarting your Mac and your iPhone.

If that doesn't do it, try to narrow it down a little.

What is syncing to the iPhone when iTunes crashes?

Do you see the problem when you deselect some of syncing options, or just deselect the one that is shown at the top of iTunes when you sync?

If it's a podcast, video or audio track, did you get it from the iTunes Store?

I restarted the iPhone, but not the Mac.  It was trying to sync the update to Apple's Remote app.  I deleted the app and tried to install it with another sync, but iTunes crashed again.  The download and install worked OK on the iPhone.

This is definitely an app sync problem.  I tried to install a new app that has never been on my iPhone and iTunes 11 crashed. If I am not updating or adding a new app the sync works OK.

Me too - syncing either iPad or iPhone to iTunes 11 OS X crashes it every time when it gets to the apps. Several apps stuck at "Waiting" on both devices. Really don't want to delete/reinstall all the apps and lose their settings if I don't absolutely have to...

That is exactly what I see too.  It looks like Apple missed a big bug.  Can you say 11.1?

I restarted both my iPhone 4S and my Mac and I was able to to add a new app to my iPhone.  I'll update this as soon as I can try an update to an app.

Same here. It gets to syncing apps and iTunes crashes. I'm using an iPhone 5. Where do we go from here?

After restarting both my iPhone and my Mac the app sync process works again.  I guess Apple should have required a restart after the install.

Restarting the phone and computer did not work for me. I restored my iPhone and now  none of the apps will copy over and so I am stuck in limbo. Nothing will copy over. Prior to the restore the updares were stuck ie pending download hence the decision to restore. Any suggestions?

After updating my iTunes to version 11 I experience the same issues as all of you on iPhone 4S iPhone 5 and the New iPad. Sync crashes when it gets to the step when it is to update apps. I reset my phone and cleared everything. Sync would then work for calendars and music. But when I selected to sync apps it crashed again. In addition updates run from the App Store on Wifi hang up and never load. I like the new look and the arrangement of the features. Too bad it doesn't work right. iTunes 11 = Maps.it looks and works like another rush job. Has Apple not yet learned its lesson. What happened to the old mantra - "It just works."

I'm having exact same issue.  Running Windows on a PC.  iTunes crashes when getting to the point of synching the apps.  Very irritating!

It's the latest iTunes update (11.0...) and I have an iPhone 4S.
