Q: iTunes 11 crashes when syncing iPhone

Yeah for anybody with this problem deleting podcasts fixed my issue. APPLE fix this ASAP i didnt pay $500 for so i have to bs my way into getting my product to work.

Same problem here, Windows iTunes 11, iPhone 5.  Starts syncing then crashes when it gets to syncing Apps.  Reboot phone / pc made no difference.

Windows 7 64-bit

iTunes ver 11.0.4.4

crash is in OLEAUT32.dll

running iTunes under compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 2 worked around the problem (although iTunes advises you not to run it that way).

It seems likely that Microsoft updated dlls in a Windows Update at some point and cause incompatibility with iTunes.

My problem started when I started downloading a bunch of courses on ItunesU on my iphone. When I then tried to synch my phone with a usb to itunes, it crashed. I assumed it was the courses so I deleted the apps and whatever courses were synched on my itunes. however the problem continued (I also had my itunes synch on the setting where my music only synched). I then re-downloaded itunesU on my iphone and deleted the courses from there, all of it, and activated the synch option, and now it doesn't crash when synching.

I restarted the iPhone, but not the Mac.  It was trying to sync the update to Apple's Remote app.  I deleted the app and tried to install it with another sync, but iTunes crashed again.  The download and install worked OK on the iPhone.

I had this same problem just this morning with my iPhone 5s and iTunes 11. It would get to the App syncing and at 3 out of 6, it would freeze iTunes and I had to force quit a few times--tried again and again.

I unplugged my iPhone, then downloaded a new app--just to change it up, then I turned off my iPhone completely, plugged it into my Mac and opened iTunes. It synced and didn't crash. Maybe I was just lucky. But it might be worth a try.

The virtual machine stuff that I suggested was unfortunately a false solution

But I just had much better success in disabling my firewall before syncing. I could successively sync both the iPhone and the iPad, without a single crash. This cannot be a coincidence, so I assume my problem is solved. I hope the trick can help other people here!
