I don't know if I'm just too stupid or too happy about how fast iTunes 11 is on my Mac, but the fact is: can't find that zoom bar to increase the size of album cover art.
MacBook (13-inch Late 2006), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I think there is not. (i dont have multitouch trackpad)
I only found cmd+J to change the size in "artist view"
I'm in the same boat my non stupid friend. Lots of good things about iTunes 11, but this tiny album cover art on my 27 inch iMac isn't one of them. Album view gives no option to increase size.
Resizing the window (by dragging its edges) changes the size of the album cover art, but this is a drawback, in my opinion. I'm ok with Apple getting rid of cover flow in iTunes, now playing cover art section and iTunes DJ (so far). But I'm missing the album art size slider.
I'm in fullscreen. I can't resize the window or change the album cover art in album view.
I'm not sure this is exactly what you're looking for but, when you click on an album, the contents of the album are shown in a sliding panel with a blow up of the album cover art on the right hand side. I don't see a way to make the full screen of individual album covers bigger. I agree that would be a nice option.
This is a bummer. Album art is important!
Vinyl and CD's are gone. iTunes is our 21st century music shelf. I should enjoy looking through my collection, not have to squint at tiny thumbnails.
Honestly, this is a great update but the artwork thing kills it. Please fix.
Let's hope Vinyl and CDs aren't quite gone yet. The day that iTunes doesn't let me decide which cover is displayed for which artist and how to quickly add Album Art to songs…

The size of the artwork is determined by the size of your window, therfore automaticaly sized. 😐
The album art does scale larger, but only until an additional small thumbnail can fit in a row. At which point they all scale back down.
In fullscreen mode on a 27" iMac the thumbnails are very small. Im sure it looks great on an 11" air.
Cover Art Size Slider Scale Gone!
Some prefered the larger icon size and others the smaller depending on our need. The size slider bar kept everybody happy.
Background color to dark grey option Gone!
Some of us view iTunes in projection rooms, and the sterile white look is like a giant headlight in a dark room. The option to switch background to dark grey helped with this. This option is Gone!
Cover Flow option Gone!

Less option for the user in iTunes 11, similar to less info on the Maps.

Cover art for Movies is a different size to cover art for Music, which in turn is a different size to cover art for TV Shows.
I am probably not alone in having spent countless hours ensuring that I have all of the correct artwork and metadata for my media. Inconsistancies like this from a company that prides itself on getting the details right is simply not good enough.
Please stop this madness, and bring back the option to resize!
